software update from your web-site and installed on the KN6000.
After a new "Initialize hard disk" my Quick Load
function don't load the previous Song Selection list. It stays on
the Menu page of HD-SX6. |

Since the new version is able to store your personal settings
there is a new sector on the HDD which is now undefined.
If you store your personal settings (they will be written to
the HDD reserved area) further HD-SX6 access will load your
Save Options.

Q: |
I have download the latest update from your web-site. When I
now press and hold the 4 PM button during turn ON a message comes
up like "PLEASE WAIT -- DEVICE= MASK ROM". Whats wrong
here? I did all the steps for extracting written in your manual.
|
A: |
This message will appear, if you haven't a correct start diskt
for the Flash-Rom update.
You have more than the 4 necessary files on your disk. Go
back to your computer and change to the MS-DOS window and check
the physicaly order of the files and you will see there is an
other file. Change to the A: drive and type dir A:\>dir
You will see the following files if the disk is correct!

Maybe you have download the
*.exe file direct to your floppy disk, which is wrong in this
case!
If you check the order of the disk on the Explorer, you will
find another, logical order. |

If I load a new bank from HD-SX6, many times I still have
the Sequencer from the previous bank still play. |
A: |
This is happen, if you save a composer bank without a sequencer
file, the previous loadet sequencer will stay in the memory as
long as you overwrite it with a new one or an empty one. Therefor
we recommend to save always an empty sequencer with your data
file. Just use our File Save Option as proposed. |

Q: |
The loading speed of my HD-SX6 is very slow, about 6-7
seconds! My previous HD-AE5000 was much quicker! |
A: |
On the latest version (12/04/2000/C you will get a much better
acces time, even if the files are big. Just download the latest
version and try. |

|
Q: |
I sometime recogize that files are not loaded correctly from
HDD. I m using all my KN2000 files which was working very well on
the HD-MEC2000. |
A: |
Unfortunately we found out that the actual version of HD-SX6
don't initialize some parameter of the sound memory.
This circumstanceis only nown from KN2000 files with Sound
Memory. For immediate help, please press an other sound group
button and the Memory buton again to initialize the memory
content.
We already test a new version with an improvement for that
problem. Please look for the new mid May version. |

Q & A: HD-AE5000 |

|
Q: |
If I want to store my MIDI settings to the hard disk,
unfortunately these settings won't be loaded from hard disk!
|
A: |
The KN5000 knows the option "load MIDI settings from File"
in the MIDI menu. If this be switch "NO", (initial
hardware setting) the MIDI settings cannot be loaded. Change that
switch to "YES" and you will find your MIDI settings
also loaded from HD-AE5000. |
|
Q: |
Why will no GM identification be sent to the MIDI equipment
during load from the hard disk, like it is the case from the
floppy disk? |
A: |
Already with our first hard disk extension (HD-MEC2000)
musicians have pointed out, that the GM identification from the
hard disk should not be sent to the MIDI equipment
trough MIDI OUT.
If your MIDI system contains more than only one keyboard,
the individual settings will be changed with each load of a GM
files and will set your adjustments to the GM standard. |
|
Q: |
Can the parallel port cable and software of HD-TechEditor96
also be used for HD-AE5000? |
A: |
The transfer protocol was extended from the 4-bit nibble mode to
the topical 8-bit bi-directional mode because of the much bigger
amount of data's. Therefor the software need to developed
completely new (32bit) and also a new parallel port cable is
necessary. The special cable fulfills the extended CE-norms.

Q: |
The save and load operation of a title with a CUSTOM file
take always a long time, up to 1 minute. |
A: |
Since the CUSTOM area is built up with Flash-ROM's and a save
function to this semiconductor takes about 1-2 seconds per place
(Custom file can store up to 20 places) the load/save operation
with the Custom option need some more time. The basic hard disk
access to such a custom file is only about 3-4 seconds but the
Flash-ROM operation need the long time. |

|
Q: |
Nothing happens if I press start button in the PC-LINK page.
|
A: |
Without the pport Update which is included in the
HD-TechManager5000 you are not able to activate a communication to
your PC. With the HD-TM Update you will find all transfer messages
on the PC-Link page. |

Q: |
I have version 1.3 of the HD-TechManager5000 on my computer.
When I try to upgrade using your new disc, the Set up manager
searches for a previous intallation and then askes me to select
the directory with the previous version of the HD-TechManager
program. In my case this is C:\program files\HD-Techmanager 5000.
The response then is that I have not selected the correct path and
the upgrade will not install. This is not your fault!
|
A: |
Yes it is! Since we added a blank on the international
version of HD-TM5000 1.3 in the file name of HD-TechManger
5000.exe your upgrade program can't find the HD-TechManager5000.
exe file. With the explorer, you simply rename your
HD-TechManager5000.exe file to HD-TechManager 5000.exe (space
between r and 5) and also your upgrade will work. That's all and
.......... sorry! |
